Ninth place for Spanish champion Mavi Garcia was the best result obtained today by the Alé BTC Ljubljana team in Belgium in the women’s De Brabantse Pijl.

Starting from Lennik and unprecedented finish in Overijse, after 122 kilometres. The winner, alone, was the Australian Grace Brown (Mitchelton-Scott). Team Sunweb’s girls Liane Lippert and Floortje Mackaij complete the podium.

At 1:19 the sprint of the first chasing group for fourth position and the Spaniard finished ninth.

Sports director Gorazd Penko said: “The new arrival made the course even more interesting, the weather was nice today but it was still cold. The weather and especially the delicate situation linked to the Covid-19 leave some uncertainty. Every day there can be surprises. Coming to today’s race, Mavi decided to go into the breakaway with about forty kilometres to go, but so she wasted a few too much energy that she might have needed to find a better placement in the sprint”.

1. Grace Brown (Mitchelton-Scott) 03:03:38
