Alé BTC Ljubljana: a Saturday as leader with Garcia and Bujak

After yesterday’s extraordinary day with the double victory of Mavi Garcia in France and Eugenia Bujak in the Marche region, today the two Alé BTC Ljubljana riders confirmed, with the support of the team, their leadership in the general classification at the Tour de l’Ardeche and the Giro delle Marche in Rosa, respectively.

An interlocutory day on the roads of France, with the third stage (Avignon - Avignon of 113.4 km) suitable for fast wheels. The Italian team acted in control and, in particular, the leader Mavi Garcia closed in 12th place, into the main group, maintaining her leadership.

In the second round of the Giro delle Marche in Rosa in Loreto, a breakaway of eight athletes decided the race, in which Eugenia Bujak and Tatiana Guderzo took part. The sprint was won by Sofia Bertizzolo (Gs Fiamme Oro) and Slovenian Bujak finished second. Eighth place for Guderzo.

Sports director Fortunato Lacquaniti commented: “Today we wanted to try our leg on the climb in the final and Eugenia and Tatiana made a good job to enter into the decisive breakaway. We took two good placings and Bujak was confirmed in the lead. Tomorrow we have a tougher test ahead of us and we will try to be in front. We are here to train”.

Referring to the French race, he adds: “Completely flat stage, the goal was not to lose seconds and so it was. Mavi is first in the standings, he has shown that he is in excellent condition. Tomorrow we have another difficult stage ahead of us and at the end of the day we will take stock. We are satisfied. We close a good week. We look forward to the Giro d’Italia”.​
