Another podium for the athlete from Treviso on the roads of the Basque Country, finishing in 2nd place the Stage 2 of the Emakumeen Bira (Aduna - Amasa, 110.8 kms) behind Amanda Spratt, the new overall leader in the General Classification.
The final climb has been the judge of this stage 2, which went to one of the eleven athletes in the head of the race with important names like Annemiek Van Vleuten, Elisa Longo Borghini and Mavi Garcia, with Spratt, just to mention some of them, tried to catch the stage win, which was decided only in the last kilometer. Only Soraya Paladin with Garcia and Spratt could sprint for the victory, which was taken by the Australian, second at the last Road World Championships. Spratt leads now with 12’’ from Paladin and Garcia.
The climb of Santa Teodosia, not far from the Capital City of the Basque Country Vitoria/Gasteiz, will be the stage uphill finish tomorrow: 2.7 kms at 9.4% average and the result of the Emakumeen Bira will take an important direction here.
