SORAYA PALADIN IS IMPRESSIVE ON THE MOUNTAINS

The very strong athlete from Treviso caresses the best result in the Queen stage of the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana (La Nucia - Castalla Xorret de Catì, 110 kms), ended it in third place, behind the German Clara Koppenburg and the South African Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, and defending the second place in the General Classification.

Today’s show by Soraya Paladin has particular tastes, thanks to her recent performances in the Spanish stage race: those result put her as a new point of reference at the top level for the Italian Cycling. It wasn’t easy at all to resist to such important competitors and especially the brutal slopes of the final climb, which reached the 22% in various parts. The force by Soraya has been visible since the first climb of the stage, the Alto de Maigmo, where she passed on top in the first place entering the decisive breakaway, and she confirmed that on the HC Climb of the Alto de Xorret de Catì, taking the necessary points to keep the leadership in the Mountain Classification.

In the GC, Clara Koppenburg is the new leader with 43’’ of advantage from Soraya Paladin and 48’’ from Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio.

The final stage is tomorrow, 104 kms from Valencia to Sagunt, which will assign the final results of this Setmana Ciclista Valenciana.
