The 2019 of Alè - Cipollini begins awesome: the first win of the year came in Australia last night (CET time), thanks to the 2018 Commonwealth Champion, who took the first place due to a breakaway which permitted her to raise her hands at the finish line of the Lexus Blackburn Bay Crit Stage 2, in Geelong, where Chloe won the Cadel Evans Great Ocean’s Road Race one year ago. The Cycling Star from Canberra anticipated the Italian Valentina Scandolara in the final sprint.
Romy Kasper made her personal comeback after 6 months far from races due to a crash at the Women’s Tour 2018.
A very happy Hosking said at the end of the race: “A win is always beautiful, the 2019 started really well. It is not yet an UCI race but there is a top-level of participants, we are in Australia and it is the first race of the year. I will defend the amazing colours of my new Alé - Cipollini outfit with my teammates next week at the Santos Tour Down Under. Geelong for me is special, last year I took here one of the greatest wins. Thanks to the Staff and to my Team Manager Fortunato Lacquaniti who permitted me to race here”.
