BIRA, ANOTHER PODIUM! SORAYA PALADIN GOT IT!

Three days at Emakumeen Bira and third podium in a row for Fabiana Luperini’s team: The athlete from Treviso Soraya Paladin could take the second place in the stage 3 of the Basque race (Antzuola -. Antzuola, 77.6 km), winning the main bunch sprint 34’’ from the stage winner Katrin Garfoot. The peloton included also Ane Santesteban, who ended 12th.

The Spanish athlete of the Alè - Cipollini - Galassia keeps being the best Basque and is third in the GC, 17’’ from Garfoot, also new overall leader. Soraya is fourth with 40’’ delay.

Fabiana Luperini’s comment “Our big team work was perfect, Soraya sprinted really well, it wasn’t easy at all to beat such tough athletes. We are still fight to reach the main goal, now there is the uphill finish and it’s important to stay focussed to obtain what we want.”

San Miguel de Aralar is the finish of the Stage 4, after a climb of about 13 kms at 4.5% average. It’s the big day for the climbers.
