The closing race in the land of kangaroos is taking place on 5th and 6th February, only four days before the official debut in Europe at the Women’s Vuelta Comunitat Valenciana (Spain). The Lexus of Blackburn Women’s Herald Sun Tour (this is the full, sponsored name) is a race with two stages (UCI 2.1 category) around the small cities of Shepparton and Falls Creek. The stage 1 is 94 long and flat, the second is just of 75 kms but at the end of a climb of 19 kms at 5%. Its top is at about 1530 meters and it is one famous ski area in the Australian State of Victoria.
Ursa Pintar and Tatiana Guderzo will not race due to the crash at the Cadel Evans Great Ocean’s Road Race: the line-up will be composed by the four riders Anna Trevisi (Italy), Maaike Boogaard (Netherlands), Anastasiia Chursina (Russia) and Maneephan Jutatip (Thailand). Gorazd Penko is the Sports Director.
Tatiana Guderzo posted recently a message on her instagram a message about how much important is to wear a helmet while riding a bike, as it can save lives. Lately she has also met the former Australian Champion Cadel Evans, winner of a Road World Championship (Mendrisio 2009, like Tatiana) and a Tour de France, who wanted to meet personally the athlete involved in a crash a few days ago in Geelong.
