The Team Alé - Cipollini ends with a triumph the Australian stage race, as the last stage has been won by the Commonwealth Champion with a final sprint against the Italians Letizia Paternoster and Rachele Barbieri. The young cyclist from Treviso Nadia Quagliotto keeps the QOM jersey and wins it with 26 points.
We couldn’t expect a better final at the Santos Women’s Tour: Chloe Hosking takes another victory, making the “double” as she did it last year at the same finish line: the tactical work by the team, directed by Giuseppe Lanzoni, has been perfect along the 42.5 kms of the stage to reach the one and only target: the victory. Chloe was in the best position to sprint and take the first international win of the 2019 for Alè - Cipollini. Hosking finished second in the Points Classification. There is glory for Nadia Quagliotto, winner of the QOM (Queen of the Mountain) classification, with the overall race winner Amanda Spratt in the second place.
“It’s amazing to start the day like this, the girls and the staff have been perfect! A tactical masterpiece and a deserved win!” declared the Team Manager Fortunato Lacquaniti.
