The Team Alé - Cipollini is ready to live as a big protagonist the 2019 edition of the most important race of the UCI Elite Women’s Calendar. The Giro Rosa iccrea develops for 10 intensive days through four Italian regions from 5th to 14 July. The Big Start is this Friday, a Team Time Trial between Cassano Spinola and Castellania Coppi (Alessandria), the hometown of the “Campionissimo” Fausto and his brother Serse.
The Stage 2 has start and finish in Viù, in the valleys near Turin, and the first uphill finish of the race is on the next day in Piedicavallo, above Biella. The Giro continues in Lombardy, first for the Lissone - Carate Brianza then on the Alps of Valtellina, near Sondrio. Up and down on the hills near Vicenza is the Stage 7 from Cornedo Vicentino to San Giorgio di Perlena, then from Vittorio Veneto the race goes to Friuli for the final days. In Maniago for a medium mountain stage finish, then on the top of the Montasio. The finish at the Castle of Udine will crown the winner of this historical 30th Giro Rosa Iccrea.
The Team Alé - Cipollini will start with the Italians Soraya Paladin and Nadia Quagliotto, the German Romy Kasper, the recent National Champions of Serbia and Japan Jelena Eric and Eri Yonamine, then the South Korea Ahreum Na.
Alé - Cipollini will wear for the Giro Rosa Iccrea a special, recycled equipment: the 90% of the kit is made of recycled plastic fabrics which have a low environmental impact.
There are various details that highlight the eco-friendly spirit of the kit, like a 4th pocket on the side to store eventual garbage. Alé believes in the importance of protecting the planet and it is developing new technologies to safeguard the environment. The hashtag #AleGreenRoad has been created to share the importance of this project.
