After a season away from the #YellowFluoOrange colours, the Italian National Champion is coming back home to race for Alé BTC City Ljubljana in 2020, becoming the second new sign after the announcement of Mavi Garcia yesterday. It’s a “comeback home” for Marta Bastianelli, in the team with who she could win in career various races, including a stage in the 2017 Giro Rosa Iccrea, a Ghent - Wevelgem, the GP Liberazione and especially the European Championships in 2018 in Glasgow (Great Britain). And now she is going to the UK where she will fight for the gold medal in the World Championships 2019, a medal that she already won in 2007 in Stuttgart with the Italian National Team, where she will have Soraya Paladin as teammate. Marta Bastianelli is since 2008 a member of the Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Azzurre. Quotes by Marta Bastianelli: “I have had various offers for the season 2020, but when Alessia Piccolo and Alé contacted me to come back I couldn’t say no, this is a second family for me. I’ve found a deal that I will define better after the Worlds Championships, when the UCI will confirm what they promised, to accept the militar status in the Women’s World Tour”. Alessia Piccolo, Team President, comments: “We are very proud to have Marta back with us in the 2020 team. It’s a very warm comeback and we feel happy to have the Italian National Champion in the one and only Italian team in the Women’s World Tour” Photo (c) Bettini |
